The 2008 Egyptian Monuments Calendar contains twelve illustrations from Mark Millmore’s book Imaging Egypt.
These new reconstructions show how the Egyptian monuments might have appeared in ancient times and there are additional images which show how each temple appears today.

In ancient times the seven pairs of 52-foot 16m high open-flower papyrus columns were enclosed. They supported huge architrave blocks which held the roof blocks . The interior would have been bathed in cool shadows and illuminated by shafts of light from the window slits.
