Karnak Temple – Temple of Khons

Rameses III built the Temple of Khonsu at Karnak. It is dedicated to the moon god Khonsu and is located in the southwest corner of the precinct of Amun. It is mention in the Harris Papyrus provides that:
"I built a house for thy son, Khonsu in Thebes, of good sandstone, red grit stone, and black stone. I overlaid its doorposts and doors with gold and inlay figures of electrum like the horizon of Heaven"
The photograph below shows a peristyle court which is bordered by a portico of twenty-eight monostyle columns. Behind this is a small hypostyle hall with four companiform columns in the middle and two monostyle columns on each side.
