Edfu Temple – Ptolemy with Hathor.

Edfu is said to be the site of the great battle between Horus and Seth and for this reason, temples were built on this spot from prehistoric times, the earliest structures housing a statue Horus and constructed from wood and grass. The current building was begun in 237 BC by Ptolemy III Euergetes I and was finished in 57BC.
